Congratulations to our newest Orical Champion, Miss Sapphire!
A mere five weeks ago, at the age of 9 months of age, Sapphire made her show debut- and boy oh boy has she taken the NSW show rings by storm!
Sapphire is from our litter between Glitter and Crash, we knew this litter would produce some super promising show puppies, with the pedigree full of some Orical superstars as well as international greats of the breed. Sapphire was our 'pick bitch' (breeder term for best girl in the litter), and we had a long term Orical follower in Tasmania who had been waiting for a show puppy, so we sent Sapphire down south. As the months passed we received photos of her, and could see she was developing well. Meanwhile her brother Jasper hit the NSW show rings,
with many class in group wins and achieving his Australian Championship title with ease.
In early October, her Tassie owner contacted us, life had thrown some curve balls- as does happen- and it was worked out that Sapphire would return back to Orical HQ. Sapphire flew back, a sparky and sassy Miss, and- very obviously- a mature and lovely example of the breed.
Katrina decided to add Sapphire to her weekend show team, and the past 5 weeks have flown by, with Sapphire impressing in the NSW show ring. In only 5 weeks of showing, Sapphire has been awarded 7 x Best Puppy in Group and 7 x Best of Breed, all against competition. And has now achieved sufficient points to receive her Australian Championship title! Not a
bad start to a show career!
In Sapphire we see a great deal of her Paternal Grandmother Primrose (Sup Ch Orical New Beginnings), and her sister Maeve (Ch Orical Girl on Fire), with a dash of her mother Glitter (Ch Orical Kaunis Kastanjan). She has lovely proportions, a beautiful and feminine head, great structure and a tail to die for.
Sapphire is the 11th Orical Lappie to achieve her Australian Championship title for 2024. Well done Sapphire, and to her handlers Katrina and Jordan Long!
